A domain account is an independent account to store your website, databases, emails etc. For every separate domain a domain account is needed. For mails only the separate mail-hosting plan “mini” is appropriate.

The number of domain accounts depends on the hosting plan.

A domain alias is creating one or more additional domain/s that would point to the IP of the main domain. This means, going to a website alias or sending emails points to the main domain.

A subdomain is a second virtual host that can be reached by 'http://subdomain.ihrepage.ch'. In that way you get the possibility to reach a second website independently (e.g. a shop, member portal, intranet, dev environment) under an alternative address. 

MySQL databases are at your disposal on a MySQL server, which is accessible via phpMyAdmin or remote via SQL client.

If you wish to operate MySQL databases by remote control, please send us a ticket with your IP address (check www.dnsreport.ch) so that we can add it to our firewall. Not everyone has access to our MySQL server!

With FTP (file transfer protocol) you manage your web relevant data easy and comfortable with any FTP client (recommended and for free: FilleZilla). FTPS (FTP over TLS) is the more secure alternative to FTP. In this case the transfer of your data is encrypted.

We are providing the latest PHP version that is operated as FCGI application. The versions 5+ and 7 are currently available. Additionally, diverse PHP modules are on your hosting available:

Beside the main FTP user with access to your web root index, additional web user in an own independent index structure are at your disposal.
